WHAT IS HAVENING?
​
Havening Techniques® are a form of psychosensory therapy rooted in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) principles, designed to help heal trauma, anxiety, and phobias. By using calming touch, Havening works to reduce the intensity of past negative experiences, fostering resilience and well-being. The process operates at an electrochemical level, so there’s no need to revisit traumatic events in detail.

WHAT TO EXPECT
​
The first session is a no obligation initial consultation during which we will assess what you would like to achieve; I will explain how the brain works to create negative patterns of behaviour and how we can become more positive and motivated.
During subsequent sessions I will guide you into a state of focused attention - this is a perfectly natural state of mind, much like daydreaming, in which you will be fully in control. I will help you master new, empowering ways of thinking, feeling and behaving so you can let go of unwanted habits, anxieties and fears, and live your life to the full.
After an initial free no obligation 15 minute phone call where we can ascertain that I am the right choice for you, we will work collaboratively in a relaxed and safe environment, either via Zoom or in person to make useful changes to your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will share my knowledge, techniques and skills ( and maybe the odd magic trick) leaving you with the tools and skills you need to access your own strengths and resources. This will relieve the symptoms of any conditions that are made worse by stress.

How many sessions will I need?​
There are no hard and fast rules. Specific fears and phobias are usually very quick, sometimes only requiring one or two session of Havening. For anxiety-based disorders I usually run four to eight sessions in order to explore the tools and techniques which best work for your individual needs, and to start the process of rewiring the neural networks which have led to the unwanted feelings or behaviours. All my sessions are client led so you determine the timeframe.

Common Misconceptions
Hypnosis doesn’t involve mind control – no one can hypnotise you against your will or make you do anything that you don’t want to do. Your subconscious mind will reject any suggestion that is inappropriate for you. So, you can relax and enjoy the process.

I work with people from every walk of life, some wishing to break unhelpful habits or stress related conditions and some wishing to fulfill their true potential and make positive change.

MY STORY
My journey began in education after a chequered career that fuelled my passion for travel and adventure. I worked in various roles worldwide, from dive boats in Australia to a safari company in Kenya, before spending seven years teaching at an international junior school in London.
​
As an army child, I experienced the challenges and rewards of adapting to new environments, which shaped my understanding of resilience and change. Over time, I have observed a troubling rise in childhood issues, including depression and low self-esteem, prompting me to train as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist in 2017. This experience deepened my passion for facilitating lasting change in my clients.
​
I now work with two military charities, The Icarus Charity and Always a Rifleman, providing support to veterans dealing with PTSD, alongside my involvement with Key4Life, where I help deliver emotional resilience programs to prisoners and young men at risk. I’m proud to contribute to programs that significantly reduce re-offending rates and help individuals regain control of their lives.

I now dedicate my time to therapy clients and cherish moments with my family of four children, along with our dog, cats, and ducks who are very much part of the family.
